The official schedule for the 2009 World Series of Poker has been released, with some major changes compared to the latter years. In total 57 different events will be played over a time span of 50 days.
Party Time
The festivities will start out on May 28 with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the WSOP. This landmark will be celebrated in style and what better way is there to celebrate this then a $40,000 No-Limit Hold'em event?
This event is one of the biggest of the entire World Series, as the tournaments have buy-ins that range from $1,000 for the "stimulus" No-Limit Hold'em event all the way up to $50,000 for the H.O.R.S.E. event.
No More Re-buys
Just as last year there will be a delayed final table for the main event. This final battle will be fought a few months later in the beginning of November 2009. Unlike all other years there will be no more re-buy events, this to prevent professional players from re-buying like maniacs to gain a disproportionate chance to obtain a bracelet.
From the total of 57 events that will be hosted, 35 will have buy-ins equal to or lower than $2,500. If you like to play the events with bigger prizes, but don't like to pay big, you can work your way up via online satellites on for example PokerStars.
