Most of the modern-day online gambling and poker giants try to do something back for the community by supporting worthy causes, and so does PKR Poker. The well-known 3D poker room has teamed up with Ante Up for Africa and will support this charity for the next twelve months to come.
Helping Africans in Need
Ante Up for Africa is a non-profit organization that has been called into being by professional poker players Norman Epstein, Annie Duke and Oscar nominated actor Don Cheadle. The goal of this organization, that was previously sponsored by Full Tilt Poker, is to raise both money and awareness for Africans in need.
Donations of PKR Players
Players at PKR Poker will be able to raise money for Ante Up for Africa by making cash donations with their loyalty points, and taking part in charity tournaments with the opportunity to donate a part of the tournament winnings to the good cause.
Raising Awareness
In order to raise awareness for the situation in Africa the PKR players will wear Ante Up for Africa branded clothing at major live poker events. Besides this, PKR Poker will sponsor celebrity poker players to take part in the Ante Up for Africa tournament at the 2010 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
