The Fascinating World of Slots

Monday, April 21st, 2008

What is it that attracts so many players to online slot machines? Playing slots is hardly an exceptional experience, no matter how many so called ‘bonus features’ the software developers add to the mix, or what crazy theme is represented on the reels. (more…)

How to Take Vegas for Millions

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Whip up a card-counting system with a spoonful of Hollywood storytelling and you have the new Kevin Spacey movie 21. It’s (loosely) based on a true story about a handful of MIT students who became card counting-experts and took Las Vegas casinos for millions in Black Jack. So, how much of it is fact and how much is fiction?More…

Attack of the Clones

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Ever noticed that online casinos look suspiciously similar? I have, and its getting a little boring. There are a limited few, well known and widely used software platforms in the casino gaming industry - PlayTech and MicroGaming are the ones that come to mind immediately. Unfortunately, I cant complain about either of them. They have done an awesome job in developing and maintaining a nice-looking and secure gambling environment.

Online Gambling Still Going Strong

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

You might have thought that the online gambling boom had come to a standstill and that the number of online gamblers was slowly but certainly declining. Actually, its the other way around. Although the growth has certainly been halted by anti-gambling laws and the like, poker rooms and online casinos still enjoy both a healthy influx of newcomers as well as regulars who return to enjoy one of their favorite pastimes.

Only Slightly Superstitious

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Gamblers are a superstitious lot by nature - many of us would definitely not walk under a ladder on the way to the casino, and the thought of breaking a mirror prior to gambling just makes you shudder. Although I normally fancy myself a fairly logical thinker, I can’t help but be amazed at how fortune or misfortune seems to converge into very palpable winning - or losing streaks.

Casino Tournaments - Let’s Get Competitive

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Online poker tournaments are available in all flavors. All poker variations and betting structures are available in tournament form, and actually, this is the most popular form of poker today. The seats fill up rapidly in everything from small-stakes “sit & go” tournaments to huge money-guaranteed multi-table tournaments with hundreds or even thousands of players. You can even qualify online to big live events like the World Series of Poker by winning a smaller buy-in satellite.

Find the Best Slots

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

If you happened to catch the latest news at Gambling-Win, you already know that MicroGaming is releasing another bunch of slot machines. That, mind you, is on top of the existing 300 or so games. Now that’s just the kind of news I like to hear.
One of the new machines is true to the season, with added werewolves and witches Halloween style. Yet another one is an old-fashioned fruit machine with the highly amusing name “You Lucky Bastard!”

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Certainly, online gambling has its downside. No one tries to deny that. But what’s all the fuss about?

The heap of groups fighting over the issue is growing like a pot in aggressive big-bet poker. (more…)

In a lot of life’s undertakings you’re up against adverse odds.

Just Walk Away – or Enjoy Your Stay

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Dear readers, thank you for your comments, it’s nice to hear from you!

Sometimes, web site staffs get the feeling they’re working for no one; that all the strategy tips and online casino reviews and blogs go straight into cyberspace without being noticed by anyone, less still coming to good use and maybe even being appreciated. (more…)

When the Elimination Approaches

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Once you have gotten passed the pure newbie stage of elimination blackjack, you will notice a number of interesting situations that occur time and time again. One of them is when an elimination hand approaches, you’re the second shortest stack, the shortest stack moves all-in in desperation, loses and busts out - before the elimination hand even started. Elimination Blackjack is the New Black

Friday, January 5th, 2007

There’s a new conversation piece you need to be updated on next time you go to a fancy dinner party. You may have heard the buzz in the street, or seen it happen in front of your eyes on CBS. A select group of people have even tried it out, and your faithful Spinner is one of those. Elimination Blackjack – it certainly has something to be said for it. (more…)

Online Slots – Winning is Nice Too

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

It’s fascinating how luck can be either completely absent or raining down in showers. When we talked about the attraction of online slots in earlier blogs, maybe we forgot to mention a small, tiny factor that adds to the pleasure of playing – winning. (more…)

Playing Baccarat without Mr. Bond

Friday, November 24th, 2006

The other day, we were involved in a game of online Baccarat. Baccarat is such a nice, classical card game. The banker may win a little more often than the player, but then again you are free to place your bet on the banker. (more…)

Free Poker TV on the Internet

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

A few years ago, poker on TV was rare and frankly not very amusing in the long run, given that the players’ hole cards were hidden. As much fun as watching paint dry, as the saying goes. Then the hole card cameras were introduced and everything changed.

All serious gamblers have some method for handling the natural swings in their bankroll. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, there’s nothing you can do about that; but by setting limits for your losses and wins during a gambling session you can insure yourself against some common pitfalls in online gambling. Online Blackjack. Online Slots. A Happy Marriage

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Online blackjack and online slots go hand in hand like a happy old couple. To the extent happy old couples still exist, that is. Or any old couples at all, for that matter. With today’s divorce rates not many couples are bound to grow old together. Then again, a lot of old people form new couples with other old people. I guess that’s a new species of old couple. But many of them choose not to live together, and maybe they don’t go hand in hand either. It’s so old-fashioned.
