Are all online casinos trustworthy and responsible? Unfortunately not, but the vast majority of them are. I’ve thought of a few pointers that could help you learn what to look for and what to avoid. Advantages of Gambling Online
Monday, February 18th, 2008Some people who are used to ‘live‘ gambling at the casino or in home poker games may still frown at the concept of playing online, but the fact of the matter is that the virtual tables can offer you more flexibility and perhaps even better profits than live ones. There is no risks of getting sugary drinks in your lap, and let‘s face it - people who don‘t shower much often carry unpleasant odors.
Online Gambling Still Going Strong
Thursday, January 10th, 2008You might have thought that the online gambling boom had come to a standstill and that the number of online gamblers was slowly but certainly declining. Actually, it‘s the other way around. Although the growth has certainly been halted by anti-gambling laws and the like, poker rooms and online casinos still enjoy both a healthy influx of newcomers as well as regulars who return to enjoy one of their favorite pastimes.
Casino Tournaments - Let’s Get Competitive
Tuesday, November 27th, 2007Online poker tournaments are available in all flavors. All poker variations and betting structures are available in tournament form, and actually, this is the most popular form of poker today. The seats fill up rapidly in everything from small-stakes “sit & go” tournaments to huge money-guaranteed multi-table tournaments with hundreds or even thousands of players. You can even qualify online to big live events like the World Series of Poker by winning a smaller buy-in satellite.
Poker is more than just a skill game
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007Labeling poker as a skill game is not the best defense against a world of misunderstandings. Several other facts are more persuasive. They make poker stand out from all other games. (more…)

Thresholds of Awareness in Online Poker
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007In a very interesting article, the “Poker Shrink” Dr. Tim Lavalli talks about thresholds in our sensory perception of external stimuli. For example, the point where you start feeling that the stove is getting warm, or noticing that daylight is starting to fade. (more…)

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007At first, Harrah’s said they wouldn’t allow any Internet qualifiers, and the prognosis for the number of entries in 2007 WSOP slumped from the record-setting 8,200 in 2006 WSOP. (more…)
Free Poker TV on the Internet
Saturday, November 18th, 2006A few years ago, poker on TV was rare and frankly not very amusing in the long run, given that the players’ hole cards were hidden. As much fun as watching paint dry, as the saying goes. Then the hole card cameras were introduced and everything changed.
How (not) to Play the Very First Hand
Wednesday, October 25th, 2006I sat down to play a tournament at the local casino. In the very first hand, I managed to lose half my stack with a marginal hand. I was in the big blind and it was folded around to the small blind who made a nominal raise. Probably more as a piece of psychological warfare than a display of actual strength – at least that’s what I thought. I looked down at K-2, no great hand, but I called and planned to steal the pot on a later street. (more…)

Can there be Too Many Chips?! (Re: WSOP 2006)
Friday, September 29th, 2006Poker players love chips, there can be no discussion about that. That’s why the WSOP main event is so popular. It simply contains more chips than any other poker competition. In the main event this summer there were more chips than ever before. With over 8,700 entrants, each starting out with 10,000 chips, there were more than 87 million chips in play, just imagine that. And they all assembled on the final table. And then they all migrated across the table to the great chip suburb outside of Jamie Gold. (more…)
