Free Poker TV on the Internet
A few years ago, poker on TV was rare and frankly not very amusing in the long run, given that the players’ hole cards were hidden. As much fun as watching paint dry, as the saying goes. Then the hole card cameras were introduced and everything changed.
The latest addition to the gamut of televised poker is the Party Poker TV that you can watch for free over the Internet. Poker competitions from around the world are shown 24/7, and as a Party Poker user you may watch or download scores of archive material. You can have a thorough walk through of the poker basics by well-known poker professional and commentator Mike Sexton.
One of his suggestions for poker etiquette is not to intimidate or harass your opponents – a beginner’s rule that some seasoned pros has apparently forgotten.
Sexton compares playing poker with running a business. “It’s exactly the same thing.” Gathering information, making decisions, investing money with the hope of getting a return on the investment.
For some players, poker is a profession. For some it is like running a business. For others it is just gambling, and some of us see poker as a really fine card game. The available view points might well be as many as the number of preferred strategies in a given poker game.
And isn’t this what makes poker such a great game? Or business. Or profession.
