Roulette - Against the Odds but not Much

It’s certainly true that when you play at an online casino, the odds for winning work against you. How else would casinos survive and so on and so forth. But that’s beside the point!

So what’s the point, then? I’ll tell you in a minute. First, let me say a few words about what it really means to have the odds against you.

The art of losing five cents

When you play roulette, each time you place a bet you can expect to lose 1/19 of that bet – on average. Each time you bet $1 you lose about 5 cents – on average.

Of course, each time you play, you will either lose the full $1 or win an amount between $2 and $35 depending on what kind of bet you made. But on average you’ll lose those 5 cents each time.

So, then, you might ask, why in the world should I be playing roulette or slots or blackjack or any other online casino game where odds always team up with the casino?

The very bad odds of a shopping spree

Well, firstly because you like it, probably. If you don’t like it, get the hell out. You’d certainly be better off doing something else with your life.

Secondly, because you actually have a chance at winning. Don’t forget that! In roulette and most other casino games, the odds are only very slightly against you. Each time you bet $1 you stand to get 95 cents back!

Compare that with other things you might do instead of playing online casino games, like shopping, going to a party, making a trip to the ocean, buying some extravagant food or an expensive bottle of wine.

In all these examples you are certain not to get anything back at all. Not a single penny. Talk about bad odds!

Make sure you have a good online casino bonus in your team, and the odds against you will be even less dramatic.
