WSOP 2007 Main Event Starting
Finally!
This is what we’ve been waiting for during ten torrid poker months with almost no action at all.
At the side of the Big One, there can be no real poker action.
There have been speculations on decreasing numbers of entrants – which would be for the first time in many years for this constantly mushrooming, megalomaniac happening – but it appears all that was nothing but a pessimist’s wet pipe dream.
Because of the enormous interest lately, Harrah’s has expanded the WSOP 2007 Main Event to four opening days! Four times 3000 players a day, that’s 12,000. Sure, we haven’t seen 12,000 entrants yet, but still.
On the other hand, in last year’s Main Event, the cap at 8,000 players was surpassed by replacement players standing in line for places left vacant by early eliminations.
So, nothing prevents the 2007 year’s Main Event from even exceeding 12,000 entrants!
But it doesn’t really matter – the 2007 WSOP Main Event is here, and it will be great.
Finally some real poker action!
