This month the Cannery had two jackpot slot winners and guess what? They were both locals! That’ll teach the tourists to cut back on their Las Vegas vacations!
Las Vegas local, Helen Jenner, hit the $1,058,092.24 jackpot Thursday evening while playing a Wheel of Fortune slot machine at The Cannery. An awful lot of people I talk to just love that Wheel of Fortune machine, my relatives included. They say they win more playing that.
But anyway, that is more than a million frickin’ dollars! Can you imagine? I would happily volunteer to take that extra ‘change’ off her hands to make it an even, cool million, you know?
“We are very pleased that one of our regular guests to the Cannery Casino hit such a big jackpot on one of our Wheel of Fortune machines,” said Josh Killian, director of marketing for Cannery Casino & Hotel. “Our guests have had some great luck here at the Cannery Casino. In the past few years we’ve had a large number of jackpot winners, including two Megabucks jackpots.”
On Friday, July 3, Las Vegas local Jose R. Galvan, also won big, hitting the Loco Loot Primary Jackpot at Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel, earning him $60,110.62. Galvan had been playing for approximately 25 minutes before wagering 25 cents on his lucky penny game and hitting the jackpot.
Twenty-five stinking minutes. That comes out to $144,265.20 an hour. I think my Dermatologist charges about that much to remove moles. God bless him. I’ll bet he has an awful lot of new friends now. But probably not as many new friends Helen Jenner has. Helen probably has cousins showing up she’s never, ever heard of before.
With winning big comes big tax problems. They both are going to need a certified public accountant to help them through the tax tap dance. I hope they don’t spend all this money by April 15th, because I think they are going to need a bunch of it to pay those taxes.
If you won that kind of slots jackpot would be the first thing you’d do? And don’t say hookers and coke because that is SO average. Really, what would you do with a million dollars if it just landed in your lap five minutes from right now?
