Aliante Station Slot Area

Aliante Station Slot Area

I went to Aliante Station Casino Saturday night. I know, finally, right? I drove all the way out there in the boondocks, not because I had a strong desire to see the new casino, but I was going to see Eric Burdon and the Animals.

It was a drive. It was only twenty miles from my house. I know that is nothing for most of you, but I live near the strip. I have a bubble I operate within. My bubble stretches the vast distance of a little on the east side, to the Downtown area, to the south end of the strip. It totally pains me to have to go anywhere west of that Las Vegas Boulevard. I mean, I do… on occasion… when I run out of supplies that are only found on the west side. So, I will go, I just won’t like it. I won’t like it at all.

So Eric Burdon, yeah, he was at Aliante Station. I could have waited until he got to the Tropicana in April, but no, it was a must go. I had a blast, by the way. Well, worth the drive. And a brutal drive it was. It was dark and nearly the entire way had construction barrels and the ever frightening cement divider things. In case you haven’t already guessed, I don’t see well at night on the road. Everything is an optical illusion if there are those orange construction barrels.

I saw on my concert ticket that I should arrive early in case the parking lot was full and they’d route me to a nearby parking lot. I guess an awful lot of us Animals fans have passed over to the other side because parking was not a problem at all!

On the downside, I was entirely too early. So I played a slot machine for a while. It was something about coconuts and I didn’t care for it that much. I sat there and smoked and watched a lady across the isle from me play a Monopoly machine. She lost all her money.

Then a burly looking guy split off from him wife and put a twenty in to that Monopoly machine. I watched him push that button quite a few times and although it paid now and then, he was getting farther and farther from even. He was down to seventy-five cents and couldn’t even play his normal amount. So he messed with the buttons a little to play a new amount and it hit a 250 bonus. After lots of bonus movies and spins he ended up at $50 and some change. He was pleased. I was pleased. His wife wandered over to check on him and she was very pleased. He cashed out and left.

Sitting there doing nothing, I figured sooner or later some guard would come along and make me move along so I decided to move along on my own.

The casino has a very nice look to it. I really want to call it Art Deco, one of my favorite designs, but I suppose it isn’t really. It was just very pleasant and very open on the casino floor. The restaurants are all along the sides of the casino floor.

I stayed mainly in the slots area because, well, I didn’t want to get lost. HA! I found the Access Showroom very easily, but it doesn’t take much to put me off course and I’d never find my way back to my concert and Eric Burdon.

I played video poker a little bit. I was up for a while on my big one dollar investment but then I kept going and lost it to the machine.

I like their slot machines they have in there. The chairs are comfy and they have lots of room. The buttons are on a wide, roomy, almost table top type of area. I really liked it because it gives you space to put down your drink and your ashtray. There seemed to be more distance between machines also, which was very nice and comfortable.

I did manage to snap this photo without being shuffled off to security guard Hell. That was a plus. So, all in all, I rather liked the place. The drive, not so much. But I made it home alive and didn’t kill anyone on the way. Bonus!
