Yard House

Yard House

I went to check out the new shopping center on Las Vegas Blvd and Sunset the other day.  Once we were done flipping through all the Las Vegas books at Borders, the first order of business was to eat, so we stopped in the Yard House for an early dinner.

Even though it was around 3:30pm or 4pm, we did have to wait to be seated.  They told us it would be about twenty minutes but in reality it was more like five minutes.  The person I was with told me they’ve never seen it so busy in there.  I suppose it was left over New Year’s Eve crowd that was filling the place up.  Normally you might not have a wait for a table.

The place is fairly modern and it looks like it would be a comfortable place to watch a game.  They have TVs everywhere so you can see them from just about every seat.  Our booth was very roomy and comfy.  The music they play is rock, some old, some new.
I was impressed they played by favorite Zombies song.

1/2 Price Appetizers during Happy Hour

1/2 Price Appetizers during Happy Hour

One of the reasons we were there is because of their half price appetizers during Happy Hour.  Their appetizers are really an entire meal.  You can easily have a light dinner in there for around six dollars during their special.  So, show up early and stuff yourself!

I really tried not to take pictures of the food.  I did!  However… once I started eating, I just had to do it.  So everyone had to put their plates of half eaten food so that I could photograph it.  In retrospect, this might not have been such a good idea.  Half eaten food on a dish isn’t so appetizing looking, is it?  But trust me, it was GOOD.

Service was right on top of things.  They catered to our every whim and need and the waitress was always there nearby.

Cheeseburger

Everyone loved their dinner.  My cheeseburger was cooked medium, just how I like it.  It tasted like some home master barbeque chef did his award winning outside grilling.  It was very tasty.  I had some of my friend’s pizza and that was very, very good too with the perfect amount of herbs, cheese and sauce.  There was nothing lacking with the food or service. A fabulous early dinner out in Las Vegas.

Their menu is quite varied and probably has something anyone would want.  The prices are anywhere from ten dollars to near thirty dollars.  There are plenty of salads and appetizers, a drink menu and deserts.

I chose the peach apple cobbler for desert.  It was small at four ounces, the perfect size for after a nice meal.  They also have a desert which is three of the deserts in separate dishes.  This would be a fun way to sample a lot of different sweets and share with your friends.

The Yard House is located in the back of Town Square shopping center.  When you come in from Las Vegas Blvd., drive to the back and park next to the Guitar Center.

Up the Sidewalk

Walk along the sidewalk towards Las Vegas Blvd.  As soon as you get to the end of the building you’ll see Yard House on the right.  It is just as easy as people told us.

They pretty much had to roll us out of there.  We had planned to take a stroll through Town Square but by the time we ate and sat in there for a while we were too tired and too stuffed to go walking around.  My friends had some stuff they had to do and were running short of time so we ended up just calling it a night.  I’ll go back one of these morning and take a lot of photos for you.  The place is a little out of the way, being on Sunset, but I hear it has been a very popular place for tourists and locals alike.

Thanks for the review Pam. I have visited a couple of Yardhouse locations in Palm Springs and Phoenix and they were great as well. in addition to great food they also have a huge selection of beer.
