Before falling in love with video poker, Dancer was a professional backgammon player. He dabbled in Blackjack and card counting, and he continued to play backgammon. Eventually, Dancer became interested in video poker. He took three years to build up a bankroll ($6,000), and in 1994 he began to immerse himself in video poker machines.
