Gus Hansen is a great player with a remarkable style which gained him quite some attention around the globe. Bluffing fearlessly and making sick calls are common practice for this professional gambler. In this video we see Gus in action in season three of the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, in the epicenter of gambling at the Golden Nugget Casino. The Great Dane has to win this qualifier in order to proceed to the Super 16. And our Danish friend has chosen a quite extreme approach that causes the necessary commotion at the table.
Part 1
Now take Gus Hansen playing as a madman, add a little hotheaded Phil Helmuth to the mix, and voila we have a very, very entertaining mix!
Part 2
This is truly Gus Hansen at his best. Comfortably moving the chips around the table, whistling a happy tune, and in the meanwhile taking the chip-lead!
Part 3
And he goes on and on like a bulldozer! Literally breaking down the table as he claims his second victim in part 3!
Part 4
We are down to heads-up play in this final part of the coverage. You thought you could maybe see some cautiousness now? I didn't think so; see for yourself how it all boils down.
Don't we all love the players who make the poker games so vividly, full of action and full of emotion? That's what I tought!. Absolutely no disrespect to players like Barry Greenstein, Howard Lederer or Chris Furgeson. These are all great poker players and great ambassadors for the game. But without things like Gus Hansen going all in time after time, Phil Helmuth unleashing his anger and ego, or Tony G getting absolutely out of line against his opponents, poker would be a lot less entertaining!
