Land-based casinos are having a hard time lately, and with the online gambling market still prospering the Las Vegas based Harrah's Entertainment decided to use its strongly branded names to enter the regulated UK gambling market.
Harrah's Interactive Entertainment
Harrah's Entertainment was one of the first Las Vegas casino operators to make a move to express its online ambitions. With the establishment of a new subsidiary named Harrah's Interactive Entertainment earlier this year, the company took a proactive approach towards international and interactive expansion.
Online Gambling Giant
This week Harrah's signed an agreement with the London Stock Exchange listed online gambling and poker giant 888 Holdings. 888 Holdings will provide the necessary online poker and casino services, under which payment processing and customer services.
With the collaboration resulting from this multi-million dollar deal, Harrah's Entertainment will be able to tap into the giant UK market with its Caesars Casino and WSOP brands.
Interactive Expansion
This new development perfectly fits in the policy of interactive expansion carried out by the former PartyCasino CEO Mitch Garber. Garber was appointed May last year to head the Interactive subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment. So far Garber is doing a great job in propelling two of Americas most famous gambling and poker brands into the European market.
