High Stakes Poker to Air on March 1

Sunday, Feb 8, 2009 | By CasinoGuide

GSN's High Stakes Poker, undisputedly the number 1 poker show ever to hit the television screens, will start once again with the first episode of its fifth season to be aired on the 1st of March.

Back on Track
The large amount of uncertainty on whether or not the High Stakes Poker show was to continue, with fierce rumors and ultimately the cancellation announcement of GSN, caused immense turmoil in the online poker community. Luckily in the beginning of this year the folks at GSN got their heads screwed on the right way again and decided to keep the HSP hit show alive.

Season Five
As the fifth season has already been played and filmed, and the episodes have been produced, nothing stands in the way of HSP bringing excitement to the homes of millions of poker fans from around the world.

The first episode of HSP season 5 will be aired in a little more than three weeks on the 1st of March. The fresh new season will be played with amongst others the all-time favorite HSP stars Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Patrick Antonius. Next to these fellows, there is also room for online hotshots Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

High Stakes No Limit Hold'em
The name of the game is No Limit Texas Hold'em and with a minimum buy-in of $200,000 and blinds of $300/$600 the show lives up to its name once again. If you just can't wait to see some high-stakes poker action, in the mean time you can always check out the top tables at Full Tilt Poker.
