High Stakes Poker to Be Cancelled?

High Stakes Poker to Be Cancelled?

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 | By CasinoGuide

Cash-game poker enthusiasts haven't had many televised poker games to follow with High Stakes Poker as one of the few exceptions. The show has gathered some of the world's best poker players; but unfortunately, it might be all over.

Among knowledgeable poker players, High Stakes Poker is the most popular TV show. Instead of airing a string of all-ins, which is common in large tournaments like the WSOP and WPT, High Stakes Poker has shown cash games with tough decisions made on every street.

Many of the world's best players have appeared on the show: Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson and Gus Hansen just to mention a few. As it seams, none of them will return to tables. A number of websites claims that there will be no 5th season.

"Far as Gabe [Kaplan] and I know, the show isn't coming back," said host AJ Benza.

Casino Guide is very sad to report that we might not see hands like the one below on TV in the near future. It would be an utter shame.
