New Poker TV Show - 'Shuffle Up and Deal'

New Poker TV Show - 'Shuffle Up and Deal'

Wednesday, Nov 25, 2009 | By CasinoGuide

Poker has always been particularly popular in the US, but with the poker boom of a couple of years ago the excitement of the game spread from homes and online and offline casinos, to the still #1 mass medium TV. It continues to do so in various ways and variations, with the newest one being the TV Show 'Shuffle Up And Deal'.

Family-Friendly Poker Show
The new poker TV Show will be hosted on the MyTV network, which is already available to 50 million families throughout the States and broadcasts programs such as the WWE Smackdown. With it's new show it ensnared poker celebrity Mike Sexton to do most of the talking, in this self-proclaimed 'first family-friendly poker-themed game show'.

If we hadn't known better we probably thought Mike Sexton himself thought up the legendary words 'Shuffle Up an Deal', as Sexton proclaimed them countless times when hosting the WPT tournaments.

Progressive Jackpot Prizes
'Shuffle Up and Deal' consists of 13 episodes all lasting 30 minutes, and each episode features five poker amateurs battle it out for a progressive jackpot that starts at $250,000. The players pick their cards from an electronic board which the crowd can see, and each card will help or hurt the player until the winner has been crowned.

When taking a quick glance at the game's concept we are not sure whether it really classifies as a Poker TV Show, but maybe that's why it is so family-friendly. What matters most however, is that there is a lot of money up for grabs, and that even the viewers can pick cards to take a shot at $10,000.

Diehard Poker Players
If you like to element of skill far more than the element of luck in poker, than perhaps this new show is not for you. Why not take a look at one of the many top online poker rooms listed here at CasinoGuide.com,
PokerStars for one would be an excellent choice.
