The state of Pennsylvania is coming down hard on three individuals who tampered with slot machines in order to get false jackpots. Authorities charged the men with theft back in October after they discovered what was going on at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
Exclusion List
Kerry Laverde, Patrick Loushil and Andre Nestor are now on the "involuntary casino exclusion list" after managing to take the casino down for more than $400,000 during the summer of 2009. They are also facing cheating and theft charges in Washington County - where the casino is located - and there's still a chance that Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board may pursue prosecution.
The Rivers Casino
The Gaming Control Board also fined The Rivers Casino for allowing underage players on the casino floor. The casino is a new facility near Pittsburgh and they are $16,000 lighter after they allowed two teenagers to play the slots in two separate incidents.
Casino Expansion
With the state of Pennsylvania passing legislature that will allow the expansion of table games in casinos, you can expect that issues like this will pop up more often down the road. And it's for these exact reasons that the Gamnig Control Board will have to run background checks on thousands of potential employees while also investigating new manufacturers, suppliers and vendors before the expansion can be completed.
In the meantime, we can point Pennsylvania residents to our U.S. Casino page, where the best online casinos that allow U.S. players are listed. Here you can play hundreds of games on secure software platforms, with the knowledge that independent player protection orginizations like eCOGRA are keeping you (and the casino) protected.
