The Sixth Bracelet
Being a highly active player, Phil already had five WSOP bracelets to his name, with the last victory dating back to 2003. Although having won five bracelets is quite an accomplishment for a only 33-year-old poker player, the sixth bracelet came in just right after a relatively long WSOP silence.
Phil Ivey won the bracelet and $96,361 in cash by outlasting the 146 opponents in the No-Limit 2-7 Draw event. He beat John Monnette to the punch in a heads-up battle and had his opponent drawing dead when the money went to the middle.
