Without question, Kathy Liebert is considered by millions of devoted fans to be one of the undisputed leading ladies of professional poker. And, if you have seen her compete in even a single high stakes tournament, you have probably arrived at that very same conclusion yourself. She is an undeniably appealing player, one who is always easy to root for.
Kathy Liebert began her poker career by working as a prop player in the state of Colorado. This rather humble beginning could never have anticipated the heights to which she would one day rise. The first major distinction to her record is winning at the inaugural Party Poker Million Event in 2002. This was the first limit poker game with a $1 million prize (not a bad way to start, if you ask me) and from that point on, Kathy kept chugging away and never looked back. She has made a number of final tables on the World Poker Tour, most notably a third place finish at the 2005 Borgata Poker Open. This last accomplishment of hers qualified Kathy as the highest finishing female on the WPT. Not too shabby, huh?
Kathy Liebert hails from the great state of New York. She studied finance in college and was promptly hired by Dun & Bradstreet, but the corporate environment fit her like a straightjacket and she did not last long. Fortunately, she had made some very wise moves in the Investment Market, which delivered the freedom to pursue her true passion: poker.
This was fortunate not only for Kathy, but for millions of devoted poker fans across America. Once she appeared on the scene, it was clear that this country had found a new sweetheart in the world of competitive poker. Kathy's personality is so winning and her style of play so fascinating to watch, that she has all the makings of a natural superstar. Numerous commentators have noted her meteoric rise as being one of the most impressive in recent memory and her dominance at the tables stays consistent regardless of who she is playing. This is a rare and wonderfully effective aspect for any competitor to have as part of his or her overall approach to the game.
It seems pretty clear that Kathy Liebert is here to stay and that surly is good news for her many devoted fans. In case you have failed to gather this by now, I place myself proudly among their number. And speaking of numbers, Kathy, if you are ever interested in getting in touch with me...
